What Makes Ganoderma So Good For You?

Ganoderma lucidum (Reishi) has been considered the "king of herbs in the East for over 4,000 years. Ganoderma is obtained from the reishi mushroom by a special process that preserves all of its properties.

Ganoderma is a super adaptogen - an agent that balances body function.  There are literally over 3 million pages of research published on the benefits of ganoderma lucidum.  Some of the findings include:

  • it is an immunostimulant, containing beta-1,3-D-glucan which increases the body's T cells
  • studies show promise for use in Epstein-Barr and chronic bronchitis
  • it lowers cholesterol and balances the body's pH
  • ganoderma contains high concentrations of sterols, ganoderic acids, coumarin, mannitol and polysaccharides, which offer protection from heart disease and stroke, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and high triglycerides
  • initial research shows that ganoderma may help fight cancer in four different ways:
  1. the glucan in reishi helps the body's immune cells bind to tumor cells
  2. canthaxanthin in ganoderma, may slow down the growth of tumors
  3. boosts the immune systems' production of T-cells and macrophages
  4. it also may actually reduce the number of cancerous cells, making it easier for the immune system to respond

Ganoderma offers hope in the delay and prevention of Alzheimer's Disease.  Alzheimers is characterized by excessive deposits of β-amyloid peptide (β-AP). Researchers at the University of Hong Kong have found that ganoderma lucidum produces an antibody against the β-amyloid peptide in the central nervous system.  It also increases oxygen and blood flow to the brain .

NOTE: you can definitely find products on the web that bill themselves as "gano" coffee.  As with anything you put into your body, do your research!  Know:

a) if they don't reveal or don't know the source of the ganoderma, then be wary;

b) if they don't reveal or don't know how the ganoderma is processed, be careful;

c) if they don't reveal or don't know  the purity of the ganoderma, run!

After doing extensive research on both ganoderma coffee products and ganoderma neutraceuticals, one of the best we found was OrGano Gold.

Be sure that any ganoderma product you take is certified 100% organic; that it is:

a) grown in strictly controlled environments (in pristine mountain forests in China);

b) cultured from natural log wood, indigenous to the area - just as it has been for millennia;

c) certified organic by the U.S. F.D.A;

d) extracted through low-temperature, shell-broken technology;
e) certified pure through independent laboratory testing;

NOTE: Regardless of how products are used in other countries, or what you may have heard or read, under FDA law in the United States, it is illegal for a manufacturer to make any medical claims for health supplements.
